What is all this ? . . .
Scout-O-Rama
Wow! A lot of fun... and some training too. The district event went very well. Big thanks to Deb Vice for pulling our booth together. Pack 306's booth was a "make your own" trail mix. Always a big hit (who doesn't love trail mix?). There were many games and activities, some of the most popular with the boys were the rubber band and dart rifle range. The "wobble board joust" looked like a lot of fun, but I was a little to big to try. One of my favorite games was the toilet seat toss, I never miss! The district provided a very good array of leader training, over 50 leaders recieved training. We missed some of you, but I'm sure you'll make it next year!
Movie Night Fun- Down and Derby
Well, Friday night's Movie fund raiser at school cafeteria was a success! We had about 60 or so kids show up with parents. While the kids and Dads enjoyed Down and Derby (mostly the Dads), the Moms had fun at the Cookie Lee Jewelry show in the teachers lounge. For those of you that did not attend, Down and Derby is a Disney movie about how Dads always seem to be more involved in the Pinewood Derby race than the boys. I noticed that the parents where laughing quite a bit more than the kids. Could it be they recognized someone in the movie? Maybe themselves? I know I saw a few guys in there i knew (yes Joe, I am the guy with the plans). We had so much fun with this fund raiser, we are planning another one for the spring. See you there!   YIS.....Cubmaster Brad
Fall Family Camp Out...Arrrgh Matey!
Whew! What a weekend! We had a great pirate adventure at camp Tanah Keeta. Granted, our camp wasn't in the middle of everything, but it was they only one with "camp chair" movies (thanks to Pat and Craig). It was a very hot, a record breaking 91 degrees in mid- October, but we took to the pool at the hottest part of the day, and like any pirate, we wouldn't give up a good thing..Arrgh! How long did you stay Craig? We had quite a crowd, 79 at our camp, and 1400 at the entire event....It took some effort but we were able to squeeze in something for everyone, canoeing, pirate games, sword fights, BB, archery, sports, craft, and we had a treasure hunt where we found booty a plenty! We had Capn' Jack the Pirate and his wife ..was it Betty? She brought along a whole flock of parrots that could squawk  louder than my whistle ( that's pretty loud, eh Annette?). Capn' Jack did a show at the camp fire, I heard it was interesting, from the two people down front that could hear him...Arrrgh! We finished up the weekend with the dirtiest boy in the camp..congratulations to Jacob Levin, who can own the title "Sir Dirt" until the next camp-out. Got to go now...I'm still try to get the sand and dirt out of everything... see ya at the next pack meeting..your Cub Master Brad
Camping Clinic
We had about a half a dozen folks show up for our camping clinic on Saturday. We demonstrated how to setup tents, prepare food, and we also had a couple of young folks show us how to nap in tents. We prepared a handout with tips and lists for Family Camping. You can download the handout on our Pack Resources page.
